Tomato Clown – Aggressive?

I'm stocking a new tank. I have a Tomato Clown and Citron Goby in a quarantine tank waiting to be added. I've done some research and I've read that Tomato Clowns can be very aggressive. Anyone with experience?

Before I put him in the new tank I want to be sure he won't terrorize peaceful tank mates. I could always add him to my other reef tank with more aggressive inhabitants instead.

yes territorial. next to a maroon clown this one is probably the next most aggressive. should probably go in last and be small if you are putting it with community fish. I would just go with false percs if you want to keep it with gobies, firefish ect.

That's what I was afraid of. I bought him at PetCo and they won't let me trade him for a Perc. So I guess he'll be going to my other tank.

You can see the agression out on the reef, too!

In my experience, skunks and percs will hide and avoid you when you come close to their anemones, but the clarkii and tomato variants wouldn't hesitate coming out of their anemones and getting right in your face!

Imagine a 5-6" tomato trying to attack you underwater!
