Question What's your tank temperature?

The next poll in my "What's your..." series has to do with tank temperature. I'm trying to figure out what most people run their tank temps at.

Rock the vote and share with us what your target tank temperature is at. Also let us know if you use a chiller or not to achieve that temp

79 here with a chiller which I have to say is the best £350 I have spent on my tank.
If it broke I would immediately replace (hopefully without the wife noticing)

I put 79* (my average temp.) but my tank ranges between 77.5* and 80* depending on if my lights (mh) are on. I don't use a chiller but I do have a small "squirrel cage" fan that comes on w/ my lights.

I'm surprised how many 82+ votes we've had. I had my tank get up to 82/83 one weekend before I had the A/C on, and had some pretty angry looking corals.

Between 78-86. Average around 82, like real reefs.

Same for me, but not sure about the real reefs part. I know I wish I could contain my swing a bit more, but people keep turning off the AC in that room!

Actual Reef temp can get very high, and it is usually around 82-84 degree F. I see no point of keeping corals under 80, especially in the summer. The metabolism of corals is faster when its at 84 degrees, and ich and other protozons have a shorter life span, which is also good. If you raise your temp slowly nothing will die. I've been keeping my tank at 82-85 for over 3 years now.

I don't use a heater or chiller an with MH/pumps/ambient room temps it stays around 78-80, though with it getting hotter here it occasionally gets up to 82 or so
