Alkalinity - How to read?

How do I go about reading alkalinity?

Do you have a test kit?

If not, you need one to measure your alkalinity level.

Salifert is a popular brand. Seachem seems to be also. The salifert is easier to use IMO. Elos is another, but I haven't used any kits from them yet.

Other brands I am not sure of.

If you already have a kit, there are various types so you need to provide that information first.

I have used many alkalinity test kits and prefer Salifert over them all. Just a heads up though, there is a batch of Saliferts out there that are not reading properly. Trying to get a handle on it as we speak.
