Everyone's favorite question
Ocellaris or True Perc..... One of the pics almost has a clear shot of the dorsal fins on one. I just can't tell. Thanks for any input.

I actually think one is oscellaris and the other is a true perc. The eyes seem different . Orange circles vs. black. Can they still mate if this is the case? I don't know if oscellaris and perc are a different species or not. Or if it is just a cosmetic designation.

Actually I'd wage they're both ocellaris and where mis marked by the wholesaler, or LFS. Percs tend to have greater black bands between the orange and white stripes. They also tend to be more orange too. All that really matters is they have a happy home and a good tank maintenance staff =)

Don't get me wrong. I don't care one way or the other, I just wanted to know. They seem to be very happy in their home. I've had them for about 6 months. They sleep on top of my brain coral. "Rolls Eyes"
