powerhead pointing help

i just got a seio powerhead for my 55g tank. now i have a predrilled tank so flow is going to the right. now that i got this powerhead where should i place this on the tank to be the most beneficial and how should i aim it? like on the back glass angled hitting the front glass as an example?

I would place it opposite side of the tank from the current flow so they hit each other in the middle.

It depends on your "need". If your surface needs agitation (it should be quite rippley) you should direct it upward. If your sand bed needs flow (it shouldn't have old food and such sitting on it) you should have it lower in your tank blowing current across your sand. If both, you should buy another powerhead and do both. If neither is really needed, you should direct your new powerhead towards the other source of flow... this creates a more random flow pattern which is much more benefitial for the working of the critters in your live rock.

how about if the sandbed is average? would my best bet be just blowing it in the opposite direction of my flow?
