How much to feed....
I feed on a daily basis, and have a pretty good idea of how much food to feed my fish just based on how much they eat but I was hoping to get others input on how much they would feed. I have a 6 different fish in two different tanks:
Tank #1 green corris wrasse: 2 inch black and white clown: 1 1/2 inch green clown goby: 1 1/2inch cleaner shrimp Tank #2 african flame back angel: 1 3/4 inch gold striped maroon: 2 1/2 inch bicolor blenny: 3 inch anemonie shrimp I currently feed a little more than half a cube to tank #1 and almost a whole cube to tank #2. daily. I just put a brine and mysis cube in the baster and guesstimate. I was just wondering if this is about how much others would feed these same guys. |

If I undertand your setup your feeding about a 1.5 cubes of frozen to six small fish each day. I think thats alot and I would cut that in half .. in my tanks the same fish might get the equivalent of about 1/2 cube .. but every tank is different and there is no right answer.

fat fish are not healthy fish.. I would throttle back a bit too, the bioload in tank 2 sounds pretty high IMO

thanks for the input, I found it very interesting. I figured Im over feeding a bit, but they eat it all. And if there was a large bio-load I figured it was in tank #1. *scratches head* Ill cut back on the feeding, but Im worried about the 'fat fish are not happy fish' part. My fish arent fat, but I dont want to kill them with food either. damz. maybe I should feed everyother day...
