Unhappy A sad day

After recieving my new 250watt metal halide bulb and seio 620 my nano reef was pretty much done. I had all the equipment and everything was ready to go. The bulb fired up right away. The seio worked fine. All of a sudden the power goes out in my room (this is all in my bedroom). I step outside to find the rest of the house is lit. After flipping the breaker it instantly shut off again. This was around 2pm. My grandmother tends to do all of her chores in the afternoon. This includes washing cloths, doing dishes, vaccum, etc. My room also has a tv, computer, and several other aquariums. I have found that at mid day my tank trips the breaker!!!

If you can, try and find an outlets outside of your room to run the light off of. It will be ugly with an extension cord. But for the time being.....

I live in a duplex apartment... I don't pay electric and neither does my neighbor so a lot of our outlets seem to be on the same breakers. We were having issues because he was running two AC units on the same circuit my MH fixtures were on... additionally a couple other outlets were on this circuit and it would overload a couple times a day.

Well he happens to be an electrician so he was able to resolve the issue.

I'll try to explain but I am not an electrician and I am reiterating what he explained to me as best I can.

The breaker that kept tripping actually had two hotlines going into one 15 amp breaker. My neighbor split the load by buying a single breaker that fits into the same spot the old 15 amp breaker was in but it has two switches (15 amp each) so that the load is now split between two 15 amp breakers instead of just one 15 amp.

I hope that makes sense and I realize I am speaking in laymen terms... if anyone can clarify I would take no offense... I'm just trying to emphasize that there may be a (relatively) easy fix.

That being said I don't recommend anyone work on a breaker box that isn't knowledgeable about such subject as they can be very dangerous if the proper precautions are not exercised.
