skimmer cup cleaning

Do I clean the inside of the neck where the foam travels up? It's starting to get a little funky, and I didn't know if I should make it squeaky clean. Thanks.

You don't have to but why not. Plus I guess theoretically it helps, more area for gunk to stick to.

i keep it clean so i can see how the bubbles coming up and then adjust it accordingly. plus, i've noticed that the funk bubbles don't travel up as well when dirty.

Got it. Thank God - that thing gets gross. I thought it needed the scum so the foam would actually travel up easier. I see now how it works since it's been in use for a couple weeks.

Thanks for the help.
