Aptasia nems
Are these guys destructive to a coral reef? Mixed reef? If they come up and I leave it there will it be bad? Also, if I have corals, and it spreads would it hurt them? I wouldn't mind having them in the tank, one more cool ocean critter! Also if they are a prob what can I use to rid myself of the? Tanks a 29 gallon.

Aitasia have a very strong sting, and they will damage corals that they touch. They also spread rapidly, so you should remove any that you find right away.

I've found Joe's Juice to work well on Aptasia.

You definitely don't want them. They spread prolifically and will become a serious nuisance in no time. Get yourself some Joes Juice and take care of them while you have a chance.

In a display, bad because they might affect your other livestock; in a filtration system/area, just fine... and probably somewhat beneficial in terms of being great at filtering your water. I'd recommend keeping them out of your display. For most people this means eradicating them altogether.

Injecting them with boiling ( or close to it ) water can kill them if you need to just spot remove a few.

I got some stupid peppermint shrimp hoping they'd take care of the one aiptasia spot I found. Been a few weeks and the dumb shrimp haven't left their hiding spots. So I guess I need to take care of it myself. When everyone says to "inject" them, are we talking stabbing them with a needle or just squirting on them? When you brush anywhere near mine it jumps back in the rock. Do I just cram a needle in that hole? What is the best stuff to use to kill them, but to have as little effect on the rest of my tank as possible?

I just added the rock w/ the nem to my main tank, 2 days later added a pep shrimp, and bye bye aptasia! If I got some rock w/ the aptasia on it, and I put it into my fuge, would that be good? I have a proven aptasia eater in the main tank, and am adding another soon. So would this work?

I never knew that either, cool idea tho. Only prob. is that these days elegance are dieing from unknown cause in captivity. they are fine for about 2 months after collection, then slowly decline in health, they die. So if you dont have one yet, this is not the best idea.

Joe's Juice has always worked well for me. The Lemon juice and boiling water are harder IME.
