Why is my sand star breaking apart?
Here are some pics. I am just about to start testing parameters of the tank to make sure nothing has gone drastically wrong. I just wanted some opinions of where to look for problems if there are any.
The tank is a 240. Lightly stocked, no "known" predators of this thing. |

How long have you had it? If its new then I would suspect shipping damage. Stars do not ship well and often slowly die.
If you have had it for a long time I am not sure and you should change your sig

One star is new, one is old. I don't know which one this is.
As far as my sig goes, if I changed that every time I changed something on my tank, I would never get anything done. |

Very possible, is there anything that can be done? There "should" be enough for him to eat. I hate to lose anything, even cheap stuff, I have a long way to make sure it's a peaceful and preadtor free tank, so I just wanted to make sure nothing was tearing him apart.

I am not sure there is anything you can do other than feed it and hope for recovery. Squirt a bit of mysis or something similar under it and see if it will eat it.
