SOON to be live rock right

I got a lot of rock dont know how much but it fills the tank real nice. The rock was my friends that was sitting outside that came out of his 40gallon.I went to the store and bought about 7pounds of live rock ,that was small and purple and red, placed them around the tank how long should it be before all the other rock is the same color or is it going to change mine is also a 40 gallon

With only 7 lbs of LR it will take awile to get a good pod population going. Be careful of stock you add . Just look in your tank at night few hours after lights go out and you will see more critters as the weeks go by.

Its the bacteria that makes liverock live, not the amount of critters that you can see.

It'll take a few months to purple up. Make sure CA MG and alk parameters are OK. But again the "live" of LR is the bacteria, which may take 6 months or more to fully establish.
