help with cover for top of aq.

tank is 72"x48"x25" would like to put a top over the open hole.
tank is made of 1" plexi and euro braced 6" brace all the way
around. can i use plexi tp make my covers? thought about
starfire glass but i know it will break sooner or later. so will plexi still allow the uv light through for the corals?

thanks
