Talking 150 gal seahorse stand finished...sweet.

Here are some pics of my 150 gallon stand by BRI aquatics. Dimensions are 48l x 30w x 40h. The stand is maple finished in Cordovan.

The tank is 48l x 24w x 30h (3/4" thick acrylic) and has an external overflow. It's a beautiful tank and was made by Envision acrylics. I realize 30" tall is a pain as far as maintenance, but I like the large viewing area.

Since I don't have a fish room, I had the idea to have access panels on the side of the cab in order to conceal plumbing, wires, etc... I should be able to reach back there and take care of regular maintenance with few problems. The piece of wood you see on the stand was used by the builder to help with construction (replicates tank dimensions). The stand should ship in a week or so. I'll post more pics when I receive it.

I'm planning on having a crowd of erectus seahorses as well as shrooms, zoos, macro, etc... Should be pretty sweet when it's done.

Let me know what you think.
Mike

Very, very nice. No wonder you're excited.

I really like the finish and simplicity of the design.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I can't wait to see the stand in person. BRI did a great job with bringing my idea to life, and they were great to deal with. I'm planning a freshwater Amazon biotope tank (don't tell my wife or I'm a dead man!). I'd like to have Discus, a large school of cardinals, cory cats, etc. and I will definitely have BRI build the stand.

I am very jealous, if anyone has a used BRI stand for a 92 corner I want to be the first to know about it. Very very nice...

Hey thanks for the kind words everyone. I really hope I do the stand and tank justice. I'll be transferring all of my livestock from my 9 gal: current tank

The nano is kind of what I'm envisioning the 150 will look like, along with the addition of some macro. I'll probably end up putting a dozen horses or so in there as well as some gobies.

I'll post progress pics over the next few months.
Take care,
Mike

Subscribing! What a beautiful stand. James does wonderful work too, so your display tank is going to be stunning.

What does a stand like that run? It really is quality furniture.

Hey, thanks Marc! Coming from you that's a really big complement. The stand was $2000 and $525 for shipping (Fl to Ca). I still need to get lights, a skimmer (deltec 851), sump, and the vortecs. Should be up and running in a few months!!
The sun corals are great for giving me a feel for what it will be like to keep horses. They both require a lot of attention to thrive, but it's a small sacrifice to keep such beautiful animals.
Thanks again everyone and I'll be sure to post progress pics!

BRI...

I've got a 90 BRI stand and canopy and it's quite nice. More of a piece of furniture than anything. I bought it thru the lfs I was working for at the time.

(it's the 5th pic, brown over black base coat)

as for corner tanks they make some seriously kick butt bow and corner stands, but they are pricey. If you live near Columbia,Sc I can point you to a doctor's office complex that has 8-10 BRI stands.

Thanks NanoGurl! My wife and I really like your tank, your dog and your gliders. Now she wants to make our tank a 150 gallon sugar glider tank! Thanks a lot!

Yeah, if anyone sees a BRI aquatic corner stand for sale used or for a good deal shoot me a note, been looking for a while.

The corner stand I quoted out was over $3,500, the cost of the corner stands are quite a bit more than standard tanks.
