Thanks, the hair algea is gone and I just added a few of the Aussie Acan's. 1 is the rainbow colored one and the other is red with a green center. Hope they grow quickly.

The tank looks great and the pictures just don't truely represent how big that tank is. I think you have a lot to be proud of. You should post some pictures of your fish room.

Just got home from a dive trip and 2 of my SPS corals were dead.... looks like higher than usual salinity is the culprit. Correcting now; however, I hate to loose anything.

Yep it was salinity... 1.032 to be exact! wow that was high! Well, I corrected it and 1 of the 2 SPS corals that I lost may actually make it. We will see.

Well, I had a build thread some time ago that showed my fish room and all my equipment as well as info about everything; however, I am not sure where that thread is now... so here is some info:
Display 500g Envisions Acrylic tank with 2x 2in drains and 1x 1.5in backup drain, 2x 1inch feed lines (1 for return pump and 1 for closed loop) 4x closed loop feeds on the top of the tank and 2x 2in closed loop drains in the tank. Display is lit by 4x 400w reeflux 12k bulbs in luminarc reflectors powered by PFO 430w HQI Ballasts Moonlights are Neptune systems moon simulators (10 leds) controlled to true moon cycles. CL is OM4way version 2 powered by a Sequence Dart Controller is a ACIII by Neptune Systems 100g fuge gravity fed by one of the drains of the display Frag tank is a custom made GEO 4'x4'x12" tank with center drains Frag lighting is 4x 48" T5 10k's and 1x 250w MH in a luminarc with a reeflux 12k bulb Calcium reactor is a 6x24 GEO and Media Reactor is also a GEO running Carbon and Rowaphos. Skimmer is also a 700g Rated GEO skimmer with 2 recirc pumps and gravity feed. http://thecarlylefamily.com/images/tankpics/skimmer.jpg Return pumps are 2x Sequence Hammerheads pumps returning from a 150g Rubbermaid sump UV is 2x 36w UV Sterilizers RO/DI has changed slightly since the picture but is as follows... 1 sediment and 2x carbon then 2x 100gpd membranes then 2x DI out to 100g Water mixing station. Water changes are done at 100g per week The fish room is controlled by a humidity/temperature controller that keeps the room at 50% humidity and 70 degrees. The controller turns on and off recirc fans in the room as well as a 300cfm evac fan. Not the best fish room picture but best I have for now. |

I have to say that these pictures are all pretty old... the frag tank is much fuller now and the ro system isnt as dirty as it was in the picture.

Added in some new Tunze to build a wave in the tank.. .everything is flowing nicely. Putting in another nem soon with a pair of completely black (with the white strips of course) percs. Training them to use the nem now so they won't go over and fight with my onyx percs.
more pics to come soon. |
