Vortech Placement

Anyone running a Vortech in a 120g 4x2x2? Need recommendations on placement. Has to be at the end as I can't fit the motor behind the tank. Has anyone DIY'd the cover to keep it from moving sand (if to low) or funneling and blowing bubbles (if to high)?

Thanks

I have one that I won in my first raffle at a meeting. I placed it high on the side to avoid blowing the sand too much, also, it's on a timer and is
programmed to run for a half hour four times a day or every six hours to simulate high/low tide..."here's a couple pics."...

Love the powder blue! Thank you for the input. I am trying to move the pump up so the sand wont move around so much but it the pump it to high it creates a vortex and sucks down air. Cool to look at but not the best for the tank. Think I will have to keep the speed down. May try to ofset with another Vortech to see if that helps. Love the water movement just hard to place.

Yeah the powder blue is cool, he bumps my hand whenever I feed him. The vortech does suck down air if it's too high and/or too strong. I had to find the hight and adjust the power.

Getting two vortechs would be great especially on a seio pump controller should it be compatible.

I'm looking for seio pump controller for a pair of koralia's...

I just got a reply on the Icecap site. One of the guys puts an old mag float above the vortech to divert the flow. That way he can keep it 4" from the top. Just tried it and it works like a charm. No more air bubbles! Glad I didn't throw out the old Mag Float!
