Std part of tank maturation .. not to worry.
Edit: bacteria and algae will grow as the tank matures .. they will generate nitrogen/oxygen bubbles .. doesn't matter whether they are under or on top of the sand. Last edited by kevin2000; 06/28/2007 at 04:09 PM. |

If they are under the sand and bubble out to the surface of the water then it is nitrogen gas and part of the de-nitrating process.
If they are just bubbles on your sand and on your rock then they are dinoflagellates which can be stopped by increasing your pH to 8.3 |

Thanks guys for the help. The bubbles are on top of the sand on a corner of the tank which doesnt have the greatest flow there. The tank has been cycling for 2 months now. The sand where the bubbles are present is a browish red colour.
Erbio you got a 540G tank..wow.. do you have any pics of it? |
