Aqua C???

I just got the pump (Mag 7) for a AquaC 180. The problem is that i bought the Aqua C used so i don't have the directions on how to hook it up. Do i just hook the pump up to the unit and let it run?
There no air hoses or anything like on a SeaClone to adjust. So...........what do i do to get it running???

Thanks

You have to buy either a vinyl tubing or use a pvc pipe to connect the pump to the skimmer.

Call the company and complain.

The adjustment is the gate valve. You hook up the pump and then adjust the gate valve to get the water level in the skimmer correct. I wouldn't call the company to complain, but they do happen to have a informative website with a manual for all the skimmers they make.

Well, he bought the skimmer used, so there's not beef with the company. Entropy's right, the company does have good customer support, but first take a look at the manual for the EV-180 at

http://www.proteinskimmer.com/EV180.pdf

Once you get the Aqua-C going correctly, which may take a lttle bit of a learning curve with some issues here and there, you'll like it.

Its much different than a Seaclone, lol. Just attach a hose from the pump to the skimmer's input/ spray injection piece and turn it on. The gray elbow is the air input with a valve on it. You can use it to adjust the flow of air through the skimmer. The gate valve allows you to adjust the level of the water inside the skimmer. Here are the instructions:

http://www.proteinskimmer.com/EV180.pdf

I have found that the mag7 was not powerful enough or the EV-180, even though it was recommended. I would recommend the Eheim 1262 or a Mag9.5. The EV-180 requires more pressure than the mag7 can produce IMO. I use a Quiet One 4000HH which has a gph rating of about 980 and can handle more back pressure than other pumps of its size. Good luck!
