No clowning around, Clydes dead......

Wondering if any of you might have an idea as to what happened to our new Ocellaris, (Clyde). We got him last week. Seemed healthy enough and had been in the LFS tank long enough to be considered safe. Yesterday he seemed to start hyperventilating, and today he's dead. No visible wounds or parasites. The other ocellaris, (Bonnie) that had already been established in her anemone hit it off with clyde right away. They both moved into the large BTA and seemed to like each other. Well, was it a domestic quarrel? Was Clyde kicked out of the house due to too many late nights of drinking? Or what? Or maybe Bonnie caught him over at the other BTA with the skunk clown?

Well, seriously any real ideas? Oh, all parameters are normal, and all other life in the tank if fine. Thanks.

Usually if a clown is breathing heavily, its a sign of Brooklynella! It kills quick too!

I have found wild ocellaris to be sometimes tricky to adjust and they are very fragille after a long shipment. I just bought a couple of them myself and put them in quarantine using suppressed SG and a couple of Formalin dips in seawater. I have never used this method before but I must say it has been working so far. The other day one of the clowns looked clamped and lethargic and the formalin dip really seems to be working.

Anyways, how long was he at the fish shop? I have found ocellaris to be some of the most docille clowns I've ever kept and at one point working at my old lfs I kept a group of 6 in a display tank.

Yeah I had the same thing happened to my first pair of Ocellaris clowns. They were fine for a couple of days. One they they were breathing very hard, the next day they were dead. What ever killed them, killed them very fast.

Current Tank Info: 125gal reef with 2 yellow tangs, 1 skunk clown, 7 lemon damsels, 4 pink smiths damsels, 1 scooter blenny, 1 banded coral shrimp, sally lightfoot, 2 hermit crabs, 4 gigantic turbos, 2 anemoneis, and corals.
