Coralife Sea Salt Mix

Does anyone have any experience with or opinions about Coralife Sea Salt mix?

I used it a LONG time ago and was NOT a fan of it at all... it just didnt seem that things did very well and it seemed hard to mix up... I would stay away from it!

yeah i tried switching to it on the advice of an old timer and the alk is non existent. i wasn't very good at that time about supplementing/testing, and relied on changes to keep things going so a lot of my SPS were stressed to begin with. coralife took most of them out completely. the worst thing was i kept doing more and larger changes the worse things were looking. at that point i was testing alk and dosing buffer at least every other day, and having a hard time keeping the alk above 8 DKH. i finally tested the mix water and it was like 7 DKH.

you do get a nice t-shirt in each bucket.

Yea, the free T-shirt is how they get you to buy it... I dont like it and DONT recommend it to ANYONE! I am not a fan of coral life products anyways! Some stuff is VERY ok, but most I dont like!

I have to agree with you guys on this one. I recently used the coralife salt and saw a huge difference over my alk. It went from a strong 9 to a ridiculous 5.6.

Never had to dose alk before and now I had to start doing it. I'm not a fan anymore and don't suggest it to anyone.

Well, ask a question and get ten different answers. I use coralife salt, and not for the free shirt as they only come in large not 2X. My alk stays at 8.4, my calcium is at a steady 460 (before I add to bump it up to 580), and my phos stays at 0. It seems to mix easily as I never see any sediments in the can. All of my corals are healthy and I see new growth on some of them. So, dont know what problems you are having, it works great for me.

when in doubt, i'd listen to the guy with all the guns.

seriously, if you are going to test and supplement every batch of mix, you may as well use the bucket with the free t-shirt. if you are going to just mix and test/adjust your tank, i think you want to get something with more consistency at least.
