What kind of sealant to use?
I'm trying to seal a valve on my aquarium. Does anyone know what kind of sealant i can buy? I have 100% silicone for window and doors. Is that okay to use?
GE brand called Silicone II. On the instructions it says not to be used for aquariums... I'm not trying to seal the glass I'm just trying to seal some a valve that is attached to a 5 gal. bucket. I'm just worried about it leaching chemicals? Thanks |

as long as it don't say anything about protecting against mold you are fine. also they always say not to use in aquariums just to save their butt but lots of ppl have used it safely

you can get 100% pure silicone in tubes for a caulking gun. or just buy aquarium sealer at wallly-world or LFS.
you can use 100% Cyanoacrylate gel. (super glue) if you rough sand the bucket and valve or score it with a knife tip. JDM
