Should I have gone bare bottom?

I have a 150 gallon reef that is 6' feet long x 2' feet wide. I have a 3" inch sandbed. This tank is only young at 3 months old. I am slowly getting some SPS. Someday this tank will be mostly SPS and I am using high flow. My sand bed gets moved around alot by all the flow. Should I have gone bare bottom? I have a sandbed in my refugium.

You can adjust the flow pattern to help keep sand from getting blown around. Personally I think BB tanks look like crap.

i say go bb! then you can have the flow however you want and not have to worry about all the mess that comes with sand. I have bb and will never look back.

It's a matter of preference. I prefer tanks with sand as they look more natural than rock sitting on glass or cut pieces of pvc piping.

Very True. Having starboard is a lot easier to clean a tank and you don't have sand getting into your pumps and you can have all the flow you want without a problem.
