Cyano Attacks.

Question: I am having another red cyno bloom/attack. I have in the past used Chemi-clean to clear the outbreak up. However evrytime it makes my Deltec skimmer go completely nuts! I turn down the airflow and it still overflows.

Any suggestions????

i used chemiclean before too. worked great if u follow directions.. however, my skimmer made too much foam and it went nuts too.. basically what i did was remove the collection cup and just let the skimmer run for 3 weeks or so.. slowly with my water changes, things went to normal

Given time and proper care it will go away on it's own. The use of chemicals IMO have never been anything I was interested in as I'm not sure nothing but what I'm treating is affected.

Ultralife makes a product called 'Red Slime Remover", it works very well, it says it doesn't effect corals but I noticed that they didn't really open up as much when I used it, then again I think I used too much...I didn't lose anything to it...

I agree with davidryder. Good tank maintenance and it will take care of itself. When I started my tank I had the samething but went away on its own after time.

I kept doing big water change until skimmer working properly. Keep fundamental things in check and red slim won't come back.
