Quick Question about zoo's

So I have two sets of zoo's. One opens all the time and the other doesn't. Now they are in different parts of the tank, so I'm not sure really why this is. So I have a couple of real quick questions.

1. Are zoo's more light loving or want a little less to medium light.
2. Do they like high flow or less flow. Those are really the only two differences between the two and there locations, so instead of moving them and trying all different places I thought I would ask. Thanks guys.

I would think the more light you give them the faster they will grow. Don't think the flow matters. Got them in high and low flow areas and they do just fine. Might want to check the set that's not opening for one of those "sundial" snails.

1. Zoas do like moderate to strong light.
2. In general they like moderate to high flow.

Maybe you have something else going on with them. Have you checked for nudi's or other zoa loving hitchhikers?

Should I take out the rock and examine with a magnifiging glass? Also if I do find something what will it look like, and how do I get rid of it?

Do a search on Heliacus variegatus and it will probably give you a picture of the snail. Don't think you will need the magnifying glasses. Just pluck it off and flush it, or put it in sump. Not to familiar with the nudibranchs.

Whenever my colonies close up I quickly dip them. After a dip they usually open up the next day.

Here is a great link to follow about dipping zoanthids.
