Hi guys- what is the best way to make coraline thrive? I have a few little dime and quarter spots here and there, but nothing like I see in a lot of pictures where it is colorful, thick and all over. I suspect I need better lighting, but am not sure.
65G 96W PC light. 50/50 antcinc and daylight Nitrates, ammonia, nitrites, PH are all good. Water temp is about 77. i have a protein skimmer and do twice monthly water changes of about 10% What do you guys think? I’d really like to see is grow and thrive. I have some one the live rock I bought, but it doesn’t seem to grow very strong or fast. Thanks in advance! |

Keeping your calcium up and keeping it up is key for good coraline growth. Lighting can also effect how fast/slow the coraline will grow. Your calcium should be between 400-450ppm.

What is the best method for keeping the calc in that range? Are there tablets or something? Or would I need a calcium reactor? Or just drop a couple Tums in the tank ? They have calcium...

Keep your calcium and alkaline levels up. Dosing something like B-ionic or even Purple-Up will work.
