Lighting Help
I am getting my 70 gallon reef tank next week and while I have a 30" Lunar Aqualight and I like it (for my 45 gallon) I don't think it is enough for my 70 gallon.
I will be keeping a few fish, ricordea, toadstools and zoos. Not really thinking about SPS right now. What would be a good light: either retrofit or fixture as I would like to use it with my new hood. (I do plan on getting a 4 fan array for the back to facilitate cooling). THanks in advance for helping a real newbie. |

You could do 4 T5's with individual reflectors in a retro for under $210 + about $90 more for good bulbs, so $300 complete. I have a shallow 90 with 4 T5's and Halides but I could keep just about anything with the T5's alone.

Look for:
ATI Geisemann UVL Those are the main companies that make high quality T5 lamps. There is also KZ . Hard to find, more expensive and just recently getting popular in the US. |
