socket bad?

I have dual 175 metal halides. One side will light up and the other will come on sometimes, but it is a different color and flickers.Thought it might be the ballast but swapped the the 2 plug-ins, samething happened then swapped the bulbs samething. Could it be that the socket is bad?

Could be corrosion on the contact (where the bulb seats) or the wiring is iffy. If you switched the wiring from the other socket and it didn't help, it must be the socket itself.
