Black Lights????

Do blacklights stimulate coral growth????.Arnt they the same as moonlights????.I was jus wondering.....

No known effects on corals with blacklights.

Moonlights are generally blue LEDs.

I think I have read that black lights give off ultraviolet light which is detrimental to corals

They are not the same as moonlights

Yes this would be correct... FWIW, the type of UV light most black lights put out causes skin cancer... You decide if that is something you want over your tank, not to mention anywhere near you?
