power heads
I have ordered a 120 gal reef ready tank and have two overflows 18" from each end on the back wall. they will have two whole drilled in them one 2" and the other 1". I am trying to find out how to hook up tand how many power heads I will need for this set up. I am puting the sump in the basement directly below the tank set up. I want to keep a clean looking tank and do not want to see any of the pluming. Should I have seperate wholes drilled for the power heads or can they be included with the return lines in the over flows?? This is my first salt water reef set up.
Thanks stickey lipps Tazio

To Reef Central If you want more flow you can add some power heads (you don't need to drill for them), instead you can drill more holes for the returns so you wouldn't need power heads (called a closed loop) IMO thats the best so you don't see power heads in the tank.

What are you keeping? You first need to determine how much flow you want. I think your confusing power heads with a closed loop system. If your looking for a clean look. A CL is the way to go. Do a search on "closed loop" that should give you all the info. you need.
