Question Sailfin tang...

i bought one 3 days ago.. he has been hiding since!! how do i bring him out? he comes out sometimes but then runs and hides within minutes..

im afraid if he wont eat, hes done...

wat do i do? wait longer? he hasnt eatin...

Are you hanging some seaweed for him on a clip? Are there some aggressive fish in the tank? I think sailfins are the most timid of all tangs. I have one, but he is always out and about.
Try some purple seaweed from julian sprung on a clip. My tangs love the stuff.

how big is the tank, and what other fish are there with the tang in that tank?

its a 150g tank.. i have a yellow tang, blue hippo and some clowns.. nothing seems to bother it.. its just a total coward, even being the biggest fish in the tank!

i didnt hang seaweed.. shud i try that??

yes offer it some algae as it will likely be used to grazing all day long

perhaps it is still being accustomed to your tank, give it another week or so
