Beckett Injector Skimmer
I am looking at "The Foaminator" (used to be made by Barr Aquatic now available from Austin Ocean, http://www.austinoceans.com/) Anyone have this skimmer? Pros - cons? How noisy is it?
If you have it, would you buy it again? Thank you for your thoughts |

Brent Barr made awesome skimmers, ours looked really similar. It was about 3-4 feet tall and it was pretty beefy build quality. We now have an MRC which I think works better for our tank size but it is being really loud all of a sudden, sounds like the beckett is rattling back and fourth, but that just started so I think something is wrong.
For the money I'd go for an MRC but if you have a giant tank with a huge load then maybe the barr skimmer would be better, we never seemed to get as much good foam and it seemed hard to dial in compared to our MRC. We had the barr on a 75 and our MRC is on a 50, same footprint as the 75 |
