Snail control...
I have stomatella (i believe) snails in my tank and they do a wonderful job of controlling algae. However, they get down to my sump and into the pump of my protein skimmer and have broken the needles inside. The subadults are the ones that give me problems because they are about 1/8" long and are very hard to keep out of the sump. I have used filter socks in the past and they have worked okay to keep the snails out, but the socks are kind of a pain to keep up with, having to clean them every few of days. Is there an alternative that would work as well or better?
Thanks, Lucas Last edited by LNell; 07/23/2007 at 10:16 PM. |

Do your pumps have pre-filters on them?

The pump for my skimmer doesn't. I have an ASM G1-X and I'm really not sure how to set that up with any sort of prefilter.
