Copepod breeding

does anyone know how to breed copepods? and is it possible to buy copepods for food for say a manderin, for longer survival?

ive never done it but i am also considering of doing the same. i mostly just want to get more copepods going in my refugium so they breed down there on their own. ive seen a few places that sell them.

Yes you can buy bottles of copepods to seed your reef. I know liveaquria sells them but i think they are out of stock right now. You might want to check other online live fish stores.

If you want to try culturing them go to the breeders forum and they have a sticky on culturing small food like copepods. You're going to need greenwater for it (greenwater=water full of green algae. you can culture that also)

I have done it before... it is pretty easy. Just need a small tank and a starter culture... you can feed them phyto like dt's. If you are trying to feed mandrins you would not want the ones we use for raising fry. These swim in the water column. You would want ones that settle out.
