Kenya vs. Hammer

I have a Kenya coral that has grown to about 4x the size that it was 3 months ago. The problem that I am having is that I have a Hammer coral that is not as full as it used to be, at least on the side that the kenya is. I am wondering if the kenya is stinging the hammer or if something else is going on.

how close are they to each other. I have had kenya trees sting other corals and had to move them.

also what are your water parameters? (numbers please, not just they are good. lol)

Could be a little warfare going on there. Have you tried moving them apart?

the hammer will win the warfare. one good hit with the hammers sweeper tentacles and the kenya will be done. here is a nice example from my tank.

After closer inspection of the hammer, it looks like it may be trying to split into some more branches. The kenya is about half an inch from touching the hammer. I guess just as a precaution I will move them further apart as the kenya has grown from about 6 inches tall to taking up about a cubic foot when fully open.

My water paramaters are:

Nitrates 0
Nitrites 0
Ammo 0
pH 8.3
Calcium ~400

I will get some pics soon so that someone can verify what is going on.

kenya trees don't put out the chemistry like other big leathers, but they seem to have compensated by being a bit more stingy than other softies. this is the only softie that I have owned that really doesn't play nice with other softies.

that being said , we are talking about a non-aleopathic softie vs a Euphyllia which can put welts on sensitive people's wrists, and that picture is the result.
