algae

Does anyone know how to help rid of problem algae?

what type of algae is it? Regardless, most algae are caused by high nutrient levels, such as nitrates and phosphates. Lower those, and you'll usually kill off some algae.

Another thing to consider...do you have a proper cleanup crew? What type and how many snails do you have in your tank?

Last...how old is the tank? Many tanks go through a few algae phases during the first year or so...
