ASM G4+ What depth to run this in ?

What depth to run the ASM G4+ in with the sedra 9000 ?

Making my sump this weekend and need to know what depth this skimmer runs best at (bought it used with no manual)

I am using the gate valve mod if that makes a difference..

I used to have that skimmer. I thought it performed best in about 8".

did you notice the sedra 9000 to be noisy ??

I've got the pump in some hot water / vineagar to clean it up and it seems a bit noisy..

I might just not be used to it but the pump is working fine, has good pressure, just seems noisy in the 5 gal bucket..
