What is this? And is it bad?
I have a 29gal reef that's been set up for a little over a month. Store-bought LR since setup, two green chromis for about 2 weeks, and added a Coral Beauty yesterday. I have noticed this white cotton-like stuff growing all over the underside of a rock that I have set up as a shelf. Each little tuft is about 2mm around, and sticks out anywhere from 2mm to about 5mm. I know the pictures suck, but does anyone have any clue what this is? And if it's bad, how to I get rid of it?

They're harmless calcareous sponges.

Thanks! Since this is really my first forray into a serious reef, it seems every little thing worries me. Greenbean, I'd love to see some pictures of your 29gal and get some ideas for livestock and spacing in mine. All I have right now is a mushroom, two green chromis, the coral beauty, and an as-yet-unidentified polyp. Don't know which direction to go next!
