Question Light Combo Sound Good?

90G tank. Thinking of getting these bulbs for my fixtures. In my 48" Current USA Fixture 2x65w 10k Daylight bulbs and in my 48" Coralife T5 fixture 2x 54w Blue Plus T5 HO Fluorescent Bulbs. Plus Adding 1x175w 10k MH. This will give me 4.6 WPG. Any thoughts, changes, or does it sound ok.....Trying to do Reef with corals that this light will allow.

I would go with something bluer in the PC fixture. Do they make a 12k bulb? The only reason I say this is because your 10k bulb is going to be bright and white, and will more than match the rest of your bulbs, so if you have more blue it will give you a better color IMO. I would go with the Iwasaki 15k halide instead of a 10k. All the growth (par) with better color.

Do you have a center brace by the way? If so, the single halide is not going to work very well.

Yea I do have a center brace.....would have to be offset. Do you think it would be a big deal if I cut the brace out.....will the tank be unstable?

I will have to check on the 12k bulb. But you think the T5 bulb choice is good?

I might have to do 2 single MH cause of the brace. Wasnt really thinking about it LOL.

I would not remove the center brace. The t5 bulb is a good choice IMO and I think the two metal halide would be best for your tank.

x2 157w halides, and 2x54w T5's.

Depends on your room temp. I would say you could get away with good fans, but it will depend on how much heat the rest of your gear is dumping into the tank. I got away with due halides and 220w of VHO on my 90g for years, but I also had a 9 inch three speed fan and a 110g refuge + 60g sump to keep the temp down.

I don't think you will need the PC's but you can keep them to supplement actinic if you feel you need more, or sell them to offset the cost of new lights.
