Is this a good worm or a bad worm

Have a few of these guys bopping around the tank, they dont seem to be hurting anything and in fact seem to be helping keep things clean.... managed to suck one into a turkey baster today! ID anyone?

It's a bristleworm, they are detrivores and will clean your tank of decaying matter. Check out Melev's ID site here. TinMan

Bristle Worm ,Contact with skin causes extreme burning sensation and swelling.
They may feed on corals ,clams, anemones. Small ones no so bad , I pulled a 4in one from the bottem of a dieing gargonia . My copperband desimated the sandbed population.

Contact with skin doesn't always do that - ive touched plenty and have never had that type reaction - usually from my experience that is the fire worm that does that.

Usually when they feed on corals, clams, and anemones they are usually dead or dying.

nevertheless you should know the potential,I've been hit and did't like it.
The gargonias base stopped receeding and bounced back, I still propigate it regularly. I've only read that they prey on other corals

There is no potential for this worm to feed on live corals. Only one species of fireworm feeds on live corals and this isn't it. It's extremely rare.
