Crab ID please!
I was just moving the rock out of my old tank and found this guy - can anyone help ID? Is he safe to put in my new tank? New tank has 2 emerald crabs, 2 cleaner shrimp, 2 or 3 peppermints, and the usual snails/hermits...

Forgot to mention that fully stretched out as in the pics, he is about a half dollar size, a little smaller maybe. His main body is about half a dime size.
Anyone? I'd like to figure out what to do with him today if I can... |

If he has been in there all along, throw him back in. If you are worried you could always keep him in the fuge. With the pointy claws, he may be a fish eater when he gets bigger.

If I add him to the fuge, will I need to feed down there, or will it get enough to eat with the circulation? The fuge is completely covered until I pull off the light/cover so feeding down there isn't really an option...

The 7 hermits and 2 shrimp in my fuge get plenty to eat. I never feed them down there. So I think he will do just fine.
