Cleaning up a 25 gal
Howdy all,
i have this 29 gal tank that someone gave me ,and it looks like they put it in storage with some of the water in it.The water evaporated and left a residue on the glass that i canot get off.I tried viniger with algae pad i even tried a razor blade and this stuff willnot come off.Anyone have a suggestion on how to get this stuff off?? TIA |

You can try soaking it overnight in a vinegar/water mixture. When I clean powerheads, I let them soak overnight and it always seems to loosen up any gunk.

Yep I'd do the soak for a day. Should come right up. I'm not positive but you may be able to use muriatic acid as well. If I remember right it is used in home swimming pools and can be found in the pool section of stores like walmart and such. I wouldn't try this without asking if it is safe though.

Any luck cleaning your tank? I am havng the same problem setting up my 29g. Its amazing how difficult it is to clean off that white film. Cheers Owen |
