My pistol shrimp does not tolerate other shrimp including peppermints and skunks. A coral banded holds his own.

I have both types of shrimp in my tank. My pistol shrimp stay on the floor of the under the rock work pushing the sand around. The sexy shrimp tend to hang out in upper levels of the tank on the rock work. Never had a problem.
