Question for Hanna phosphate meter Users ?

Which test kits would you guys recommend if all you want to do is see if your GFO is starting to leach ?

Is there a kit you guys used before hand that you found decent ?

Merck. FWIW drinking water treatment plants have done the tests, GFO does not leach back to the water.

Hach PO-19 Phosphorus Test Kit

I have the following phosphate test kits:

Hach PO-19 Phosphorus
DD Merck High Sensitivity Phosphate
Elos Phosphate
Salifert Phosphate

If you are willing to pay for the DD Merck kit, I would pay a little more and get the Hach PO-19 kit ($75.65) from www.hach.com.

I am not satisfied with the DD Merck kit because its color swatches have a yellow tint that does not match my test sample. I found it difficult to determine a color match when using the DD Merck kit. My test sample had a light blue color that fell between swatches of medium blue and light green colors.

Among the lower priced kits, the Elos is superior to the Salifert.

I hope to finish comparative testing of the phosphate kits and post a review in the near future.
