how to star a SPS tank

Hi there can some one point me some link or some book to buy where I could learn how to start guide on SPS tank

I dont want to make cost mistakes.

My tank is yung 5 month ald and has some lps, smal coolony of zoos, mashroom. but in the future I want to upgrade to SPS

So I need to know what to buy for when the times came.

Did you have any questions in particular about converting your current setup over to be more SPS oriented, or will this be a new tank all together?

I think I will be converting this one in a SPS for now. I am thinking in a custom made of 150G but this is a 5 year proyect.

I have put 3 SPS frags (green acro, purple horrida and a catpawn) and they all turn brown and finally die I have only cat pawn left (1" frag). I think my main problem is than I dont know what to feed them.

My tank is yung so I will weit a year to start the SPS upgrade, but like I say I want to be preper.

If you're saying that your tank is 5yrs old, then it is old enough and should be well established. If your tank is set up properly for SPS then you should'nt need to feed them. Tell us more about your system. What kind of lighting and flow do you have?

Years?? 5 months old.

You do not need to feed SPS, there main "food" is through your light, water flow, and keeping adequate filtration. When you feed your fish, does any food hit the sandbed, or does your filtration method keep everything suspended so it can be filtered out or eaten? You also need to keep your Alkalinity/Cacium/Magnesium at the right levels and not let them vary to high or low in one direction too quickly.

If you started with good cured LR, then you should be ok at 5 months as long as everything else is up to par. I don't think your lights are the problem. Unless the bulbs are old. If you don't know about Alkalinity/Cacium/Magnesium levels, then that is most likely where the problem is.
