t5 Lighting: Please help me choose
I want to replace the 4 t5 bulbs I am running right now.
Background: 58gallon Oceanic Reef Ready Keeping Monti Caps, Poscilliopora, Acan Lords, Candy Cane, Zoos, Rics I want to get more blue from my tank. I was looking at Geismann 39w bulbs but do not know what is the best fit. Giesemann Powerchrome AquaBlue+ 39W Giesemann Powerchrome Midday 39W Giesemann Powerchrome Actinic+ 39W Giesemann Powerchrome Pure Actinic 39W What is the difference between the Aquablue+, Actinic Plus and Pure Actinic? Please keep in mind that I am running 2 VHO Actinic (will be replacing with t5 eventually, need reflectors and endcaps) Also, is it necessary to run midday bulbs? Any help is appreciated.... Thanks |

thanks for the suggestion, really looking to understand the differences between the different types of Actinic and whether daylight bulb is necessary.
I really like the blue look in the tank, makes the corals pop. |

the blue actnic are only for bring out color in corals, plus to help with sunrise and sunset affect but your daylight bulbs is what your coral need. i have 4 36" t5's, 2 blue actnic and 2 daylight 11,000k. I going to switch to 3 daylight bulbs and 1 actnic bulbs.
