which type of coral

i have a 150 with only 360w of vho light on it i know, not much for now but im saving for my halides...my question is can i get any type of coral in my tank for now or no ...and if i can what type can i get ill try to put in the upper half of my tank so it gets more light any suggestion would be appreciated

I kept lots of corals under VHO. In fact, I used to have a 33 gallon tank that had 4 40 watt normal output fluorescents that had tons of stuff, and did very well.

Mostly softies, some LPS corals, and a bubble tip anemone. That take was up for 7 years before I took it down and set up my 180.

I fed the tank heavily. the LPS corals and BTA got fed real food at least a few times a week. That makes a big difference.

I agree that you should be able to keep a fair variety of soft corals, LPS and mushrooms with that lighting.

Mushrooms are a great starter coral, IMO.

I'm running VHO until I upgrade, and the LPS, zoas, etc. are doing well. I have 4 x 110 watts over a 125g tank, so a little more light than you.
