cleaning back glass of tank

i remember when i had my first reef tank, years ago, i cleaned the back glass for months untill someone told me about coraline, and as soon as i stopped cleaning it the coraline started to grow, my question is now that i have a new tank (its about 5 weeks old) when do i stop cleaning the back of the tank, i havent cleaned it in about 2 weeks and there is a thin brown layer on it, just a diatom bloom i think, but at this point do i need to keep cleaning that off or just let it be.

I would continue to clean it till the bloom is over with, that way you have a nice clean start, and wont have to worry about PO rising

At first I was cleaning mine, but i just let it alone and the coralline is starting. The diatoms will go away in time.

After we moved my tank, all the coraline sloughed off. I was wondering the same thing: when will it cover the back glass again. The only thing growing ont he glass right now is pulsing xenia. They are creeping toward the top.

imo the tanks with the clean look are just better looking. In so many threads people that post pictures with tanks that look clean get more comments. Yes in some tanks the corals are so good looking that a dirty looking tank is ok.
