Will a UV sterilizer kill off bad algae? I have bright green algae that I can seem to get rid of. I have a 125g with 40g sump 20g fuge. About 100 pounds of rock, 3 250watt Hamilton’s ,Coralife needle skimmer. Its been up for about a year.

it should try reducing the amount of nutrients you put into the sytem as well or get a larger clean up crew

Definitely look for your source of neutrients first, poor skimming, too much feeding, not enough circulation to get the yuk suspended and out of the water etc. What do you have for fish load? and circulation?
That said I like UV. Mine is currently off line, but I think it helps with algae. I plan to run my UV daily part time at night when the MH lights are off.
