Will Kalk harm a T. crocea?

I have some star polyps that are growing up the side of my clam. I am thinking about trying to kill them like aptasia, by making a kalk slurry and spraying at them. My question is with it burn the mantle of the clam being as they are growing very close to it?

Why not just peel the polyps off the shell? It should come off fairly easy. If kalk touched the clam mantle, it will hurt it but it won't kill it. If it is possible to take it out, you can peel them off, aggitate the clam until it is completely closed, and then smear paste on it.
