How do you know when your clowns are paired and is there a certain age?

Is it when both the clowns are swimming togethers? I have two ocellaris one is 1.5inchs and the other is 1.2 inches I think and the smaller one sometime does his sizure dance but doesnt swim with the bigger one. The bigger one swims everywhere and when that clown sees the smaller one sometimes it would swim really fast towards it looks. The small one hides near the top. I am curious how do you know when they are paired?
