skimmer problem!
My skimmer is no longer producing bubbles. There is water flow, so I don't think it's the pump. The aerator tube is attached, but no bubbles. What do I do? How long can the tank go without one? It's been just over 24 hours since I checked it last, and it was running fine then.

Where the air and water mix, it sends a salt spray back into the air tube, and it evaporates leaving behind a little salt, this happens over and over, soon blocking the air intake.
My guess is this is your problem(i may be wrong) it can be easily solved by running some hot water through your air intake once a week or two. You may have to manually clean it the first time, but if you keep up with it, its not a big fix. Good Luck!

Thanx for the quick response. I panicked early, I found a spare intake and tube and replaced the old one. I was thinking I i'd have to go to the LFS to buy a new spare, but I'll run the hot water as you suggested and keep the old one.
